Privacy

Sift is a disk space analyzer that runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing about your files is sent anywhere.
Data Not Collected
Sift's Mac App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and it will stay that way. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting SDK, and no network calls at all. The app does not include a telemetry library and does not contact our servers — we do not operate an application backend for Sift.
What Sift reads on your Mac
To measure a folder Sift has to be allowed to see it. It reads file sizes, names, paths and dates. It reads a file's contents only when you press Space to preview that file. Access is granted by you, folder by folder or via Full Disk Access, and can be revoked in System Settings.
Purchases
The $19.99 yearly plan is sold by Apple through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment. Sift does not see your name, email or payment details. Family Sharing is provided by Apple.
This website
The marketing site is static HTML. It does not set analytics cookies and does not embed third-party tracking pixels. Your browser will still send ordinary request logs to whoever hosts the files (for example a CDN or a small web server). Those logs are used to operate the site, not to build a profile.
