The app

Sift is a disk space analyzer for macOS, distributed only through the Mac App Store. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store terms also apply. Scanning and browsing the disk are free. The $19.99 yearly plan, billed by Apple, unlocks moving files to the Trash, smart categories, the duplicate finder and the menu bar watch. Family Sharing is provided by Apple.

Purchases and refunds

Payments, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple. Cancel in App Store settings. Refund requests go through Apple’s form, not through us. We cannot change an App Store subscription from our side.

What Sift will and will not do

Sift measures folders you grant it access to. It never deletes a file outright — items go to the Trash. It makes no network calls and collects no data. You remain responsible for what you choose to throw away. Do not use Sift to remove sealed system files or Time Machine backup volumes.

This website

sift-mac.com is a static marketing site. It does not create an account, set analytics cookies or sell anything directly. App Store links open Apple’s store.

No warranty

Sift and this site are provided as is. We do not warrant that a scan will find every file, that a size will match Finder in every edge case, or that moving items to the Trash is free of risk on a damaged disk.
